Nepal Medical College (NMC) is situated at Attarkhel of Jorpati Village Development Committee, in Kathmandu and has its own 700 bed Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital (NMCTH). It commands panoramic view of Gokarna park in the east and overlooks Gokarneshwor temple and pine trees on the north .Regular micro bus service plying on different routes connects NMC with different parts of the city. Taxis Service is available from early dawn to late at night.

Upon the achievement of quality education augmented with the elementary know-how on research, the medical graduate becomes confident to provide health services with confidence. Nepal Medical College runs the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program of the Kathmandu University. It includes the core curriculum of four and a half academic year which comprises of basic medical sciences, community medicine, forensic medicine, medical informatics, community based learning and study of clinical subjects and clinical experiences. After passing the MBBS examination, one year of rotating internship is compulsory at Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital. It is mandatory for all NMC graduates to perform rotating internship at NMCTH, which is prerequisite to licensing examination of Nepal Medical Council for becoming eligible to get registration for practicing as a full fledged medical practitioner in Nepal.
