Registration Procedure
Applications from eligible
students for the Bachelor
of Medicine and Bachelor
of Surgery (MBBS) program
will be invited once in
an academic year. For Resident
Nepalese students this will
be after the Kathmandu University
Medical Entrance Test (KUMET)
which will be held in July,
2007. The resident and non-resident
Nepalese including international
students must send applications
to Nepal Medical College
by September 17, 2007 (Bhadra
31, 2064). All the students
must apply to the Principal
for admission. Applications
sent in the names of other
persons, than the Principal
of NMC, will not be considered
for admission. All students
shall be informed of the
date of interview by the
Examination section.
METHOD OF SELECTION
OF STUDENT AT NMC
The students nominated by
His Majesty’s Government
of Nepal will be enrolled
into the program without having
to take the college interview.
The Resident Nepalese students
to be enrolled on full fee
payment self financing scheme
must pass the KUMET 2007
examination of Kathmandu
University before registering
the application in the college.
The candidates along with
their parents will be called
for interviews to be held
by Nepal Medical College
at the venue specified by
the college. The final list
of selected students for
enrollment will be published
by NMC. Opportunities will
be given to both the genders
for enrollment on merit
basis. Equity and equality
for both the genders will
be honoured during the student
selection process.
The Non-Resident Nepalese
including international students
shall be selected by interview
on the merit basis only.
Note
Should vacancy (ies) occur
in the Non-Resident Nepalese
category including international
students, such vacancy (ies)
will be filled in from Resident
Nepalese students in order
of merit whose names are published
in the waiting list. Such
students will be admitted
and are required to make fee
payment applicable for the
Resident Nepalese students.
Likewise, should vacancies
occur in Resident Nepalese
category, students from Non-Resident
Nepalese including international
categories whose names are
published in order of merit
in the waiting list will be
given priority and will be
admitted in order of merit
from the waiting list. Such
candidates (either Non- Resident
Nepalese, International students)
are required to pay the fee
as applicable to such a student
depending on the country of
his/her residence as mentioned
below. No candidate will be
admitted without appearing
in the college interview.
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE
Names of students selected
by the NMC Student Selection
Committee headed by the Executive
Chairman of NMC will be forwarded
to the Fiscal section of NMC
where the student must make
all categories of fee payment
for the first enrollment related
to the MBBS programme on the
dates specified by NMC. Failure
to enroll in the MBBS program
by the principal candidates
within time specified will
automatically permit the enrollment
of alternate candidates in
order of merit from the waiting
list. There is no system of
late fee payment for enrollment
of principal candidates and
also for candidates from the
waiting list.
