education by opening medical
colleges in private sector
by open door policy for inviting
the private sector in the
overall development of Nepal
adopted by HMC in the ninetees,
the figure of 1 doctor to
about 16500 population on
an average then in Nepal,
drew attention of the founding
members of Nepal medical College
and motivated them to start
a medical college and its
teaching hospital and run
the MBBS program.

of the Bikramaditya year 2052,
(coinciding with March 08,1996
Gregorian year), founder Dr.Sachey
Kumar Pahari, MBBS, DTM&H,
MRCP, FRCP, Senior Consultant
physician and Royal surgeon;
Dr. Ram Ratna Upadhayay, MBBS,
DCP , Senior Pathologist;
Eng Deepak Bhattarai, B.E.
MSC principal of Nepal Engineering
College and Mr. Lambodar Neupane,
Management consultant at Nepal
Engineering college in Kupundole,
Lalitpur then and make them
take a very bold decision
to open Nepal Medical College
and Teaching Hospital (NMCTH)
and start the MBBS program
in order to contribute for
the development of Human Resources
in Health by involvement Nepalese
people in the field of higher
education.
