It gives me profound joy in recollecting the memories of the last decade spent in the making of Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital. I also feel very happy to share with you that the bold step taken by the Nepalese in 1997 has indeed turned into a promising venture which has made significant contribution in the field of medical education and health care in Nepal.

Aspiring to reach the summit, crossing over many hurdles as we did on the way, did turn out to be the natural process of human endeavour and has indeed added new learning experience for us. Retaining the momentum gained in 1997 together with the commitment and motivation, the acceleration shall ceaselessly continue. In our final assault to the summit of our dream, zeal and enthusiasm supplemented with our commitment and endeavour shall always remain in the form of our energy and strength to attain our goal.

For providing us with advice, and both moral and financial support during our journey in the field of medical education and healthcare services, all the founder members, staff, faculty, students of NMC together with their parents, and the bankers, Nepal Government, Kathmandu University, Ministry of Health and Population, Ministry of Education and Sports, Nepal Medical Council as well as all our Well wishers deserve our gratitude. I would like to convey our special gratitude to the Government of India for providing the financial support for the construction of a Community satellite health centre at Jhaukhel VDC of Bhaktapur which shall function equivalent to a district hospital from next year.

I would like to welcome the XIth Batch of MBBS students at NMC.
